(Selecta+Amara+Barcural) As Nego Bispo used to say: “We are the beginning, the middle, and the beginning!”And it was with this saying, with this idea deeply rooted in us, that we listened to this LP, which at one point declares that “the circle is now complete.” Late ’90s, early 2000s, somewhere in the chaotic metropolis of São Paulo, these boys, drunk with rage, were making their sounds, their actions, their interventions, intriguing people with a sonic mix never before seen in our scene, nor outside of it. Rage, catharsis, smiles, belief, art—these were some of the elements that completed the circle during Constrito’s performances. Now, a collective force—as Constrito has always been—has come together to release this vinyl record, a well-deserved version of an album so important to so many people, to moments in so many people’s lives. We’ve saved the highlight for the liner notes—not because of the type of paper used or the printing, but because of the inspiring content it contains. It inspires us to know that there are still people who can feel something. And in this graphic reinterpretation, beyond the beauty, there is feeling—and plenty of it. It’s 36 pages of photos, texts, lyrics, and heart. It would bring us joy today to be at yet another Constrito concert, or perhaps, side by side on Paulista Avenue, shouting against the FTAA or any other capitalist organization….The invitation is extended…
