(Pasażer) Dezerter have completed work on reconstructing live set from a 1984 concert in Jarocin. They managed to find and edit the entire performance, including the brawl between the band and the festival organisers. The material comes from two sources: a tape connected to a console and a cassette tape recorded ‘from the air’. The quality of the recordings is satisfactory enough that it was possible to present all the songs (26 songs) and elements of the happening. In total, more than 70 minutes of material. The material is entitled ‘Still Alive Man’ and was premiered in 1984 on an illegal cassette tape by Tank Records (set up by the band). The authorised print run of this cassette was a few hundred copies. Subsequent copies were made by fans of the band. As this is Dezerter’s first, and at the same time great, long-playing material, it is surrounded by special respect. For those unfamiliar with the concert, here is an opportunity to see that Polish punk rock was in great shape at the time. In spite of restrictions and censorship, Dezerter did not spare the system any razzmatazz, with which he aroused the admiration of the ‘young angry’. For reasons beyond the band’s control, the material is technically imperfect. However, due to its great historical importance, it is worth reissuing in digital form.
