(Cospe Fogo Gravacoes+Loja+Undershows+…) Straight from São Paulo comes POINT OF NO RETURN. Formed in 1996, this Brazilian band with three vocalists has always flown the vegan and straight edge flag in the tropics, with politicised lyrics and a hardcore sound heavily influenced by metal and mosh. After releasing two albums, an EP and touring South America and Europe in the early 2000s, the band went on hiatus in 2006. The band recently returned with the album The Language of Refusal, one of their comeback shows was at Verdurada in São Paulo, and this show will be turned into a CD. The songs deal with highly topical issues, such as deforestation and labour exploitation in the Amazon, the injustices of global warming, the advance of conservative populism in the world and the difficulties of organising political resistance movements. All of this is wrapped up in a sound that mixes late 90s hardcore mosh, SLAYER-style riffs, gang vocals, and even a few hints of NAPALM DEATH.
