(PHR) Active Minds keep proving that their musical creativity knows no limits. Following their earlier 7″, 10″ and an LP compilation from the Canary Islands, they’re releasing their fourth, 12″ vinyl record this year. A Slovak band Pivnica also contributed to the split record, which put them on a long list of bands who As per usual, the active brothers from Scarborough voice their firmly held attitudes; their lyrics criticize the destruction of the natural environment, corporations and their localized influence, and dysfunctional behavioral patterns among society. These are the Active Minds we know and love. Raw sounds, fast minute-long crust-trash punk blasts, or long harmonic singles – you’ll find yourselves singing them long after the band stops playing. The other side of the disc won’t disappoint either. Pivnica, who‘s in their best shape in their 20-year-long history, presents themselves with hardcore punk sound influenced by the US 1980s HC scene or second wave of UK punk.
