(Pirates Press) The SUBHUMANS’ third album, arguably the pinnacle of their output in the 1980s, was recorded at Woodlands Studio in Castleford in the spring of 1985 and released early the following year. Months after the band had broken up. The album opens with the somewhat incongruous instrumental “33322”, but what it lacks in speed it more than makes up for with some truly sublime compositions, assured arrangements and dizzying time changes. With an illustration drawn by singer Dick on the front cover, the band have found a real sweet spot in their songwriting with Worlds Apart, which has spawned many of their most popular tracks such as “Apathy”, “Businessmen” and “Can’t Hear The Words”.
