(Iron Lung) After a rather lengthy hiatus, here’s the first brand new material in a while from Australia’s Straightjacket Nation. Fronted by DX of Total Control / Distort fanzine, but don’t expect any laid-back post-punk here… it’s all HC. This time around the band recorded in the Pain Cave in Boston (Mind Eraser, No Tolerance, etc.) and ended up with a rather different sound than their other records. This recording has a ton of bottom end, and with the band playing a hair more locked-in the whole thing has much more of a Boston vibe than the Cleveland thing that SN were going for on their early records. I think the change is a really positive one, and this is certainly my favorite SN recording so far.
